No inspiration hence no update.
If i were to talk about wedding all day long, it would fill up the pages pretty quickly but since a lot of things are still pending, it's like i'm repeating myself over and over. Good news is our form application has been approved by JAWI so all we have to do now is give them to the imam of the mosque that we wanted to get married at. I'm so relieved that the most important thing is done. I somehow couldn't wait for this thing to be over with so i can share with you the wedding dress sketches, who are the tailors, who are the photohgraphers and whatnot. This Sunday, i'll be meeting up with this lady who will be doing my mini pelamin at home. Have not book her yet but i love her work so hopefully everything will turn out ok.
Met with another tailor on Tuesday on my attire for groom's reception. When he was telling me where his shop at and me seeing the place for the first time, i was quiet apprehensive as the place was kind of dodgy and the building he was at has lack of tenants but because my boss and his wife recommended him and he is a tailor for one of the designer in Malaysia, i went with it and pray for the best. He is cheaper than my current tailor though but he can only do my attire in August as the reception will be in October. On another note, since i've already booked my MUA(make up artist) for solemnization, i tried to find a different MUA for reception as my MUA right now is quiet pricey and recently i've heard she has mark up her price to RM1k per event so to hire her for reception is out of question. I couldn't justify hiring such a pricey MUA so for both receptions i have to look at other options.
On my guests list dilemma, i'm feeling somewhat guilty as i can't invite everybody to them. If i had my ways(paying for this instead of parents), i'll invite everybody but since my solemnization ceremony, we expected up to 250 attending and 90 percent of them are family and in-laws, i'm left with somewhat 20+ people to invite. My reception, i'm given 5 tables for 50 people and how do i choose who to attend? So I have to apologize to those who are not invited. It's nothing personal. As for now, i still have not finalise the list.
For the past weeks i've been nervous and agitated at the prospect of getting married. It dawn on me that i'll be having responsibilities that i'm not quiet ready yet. Oh don't get me wrong, I WANT to be a wife but wifely duties is another thing altogether- cooking, taking care of your hubby, his welfare, getting up early every morning since i'll be living with my in-laws for the time being ( a joy as their house is in front of my house so seeing my family is a walk in the park LITERALLY and it's 2 minutes away), and fasting month and Raya is fast approaching so i have to think about syncronising our colours and so much more. Heck, i'm the laziest person in the household currently so to change my routine is daunting. I've been depending on mama for so long and i don't feel quite grow up to deal with this.
I'll be taking my leave starting May to focus on wedding preps and also to start doing something on my own. I'm constantly thinking of making more money and I know I can't make that much with my current situation. N and I have been talking extensively about our future and eventhough he loves the idea of me quitting and staying at home, I on the other hand couldn't imagine not doing anything. So we'll see. I have something up my sleeves by May. Everything is up to me whether i wanna do it. I have the privilege to have a permanent job as an engineer if I want to and still doing something on the side. Sometimes i think i should just grow up and stop being in a cocoon of safety. Parents have always provide me with everything i ever needed and N has always spoils me and hopefully will continue to do so ;p but you can't always depend on somebody else for your happiness and I know if i excel in what i'm about to do, i'll be earning 5 figures top in a 1-2 years perhaps. Aim high right ;) I'm just so thankful i don't have to think about all the nitty gritty things as N has already lined up his plans for us. Insurances, kids educations, money for rainy days, etc. He is the main provider afterall ;)
Love is definitely in the air lately. It is so much stronger with 10 weeks left. O-M-G 10 weeks left. Ok i'm gonna sit in the corner and freaking out about this.
Ps: A shout out to a dear friend, Hanip for putting my picture in his picture collage on his bedroom wall. I feel appreciated ;)

No monday blues for me
Well we had 2 things covered on Monday.
1. I bought his watch for hantaran
2. He bought his tux for his side's reception.
Amazing thing is, we still have not finalised his venue yet. Oh dear, i'll be scouring my dress soon i guess. Supposed to had our HIV test but as clueless as i can be, we had no idea we have to do an appointment to get it done. Called around few gov clinics and we got the earliest date which is in the middle of April. Thankfully the imam gave us 1 month so we can send in the necessary forms to him by May.
And we ate a lot. Well I did. Had my lunch at carefour when i was buying my so-ever-important contact lenses, rushed to Klcc & while he and his mom settled some stuff at the bank, i ate spaghetti marinara. Later on, had tea at la cucur and after 1 hour we decided to go to Aseana for their famous cucur udang & cekodok and i throw in the bread pudding as well. How on earth can i lose weight by June? Horror!!
Back home mom was asking my opinions everyday about the favor that she did. Whether the net is ok? Or What about the colour? Or should she put more beads or buy another ribbon or is this ribbon ok etc etc etc? All i wanna say to her "I do not give a hoooottt about the favors, you can do whatever you want with them" but instead i politely feigned interest and say whatever appropriate. I have no idea why the thought of doing the favors myself or stamping our names on the thank you card is so bloody boring that i wanna cry when doing it. Shouldn't brides-to-be have fun doing all these little little things? Not me i guess. Poor mom, doing it all by herself.
This weekend will be a busy weekend as usual.

::Less than 100 days::
Oh boy oh boy, I did it again.
I've neglected my blog.
You see, the girl who was really passionate in writing years back, somehow she has lost her edge. I would really love to pen in everything here but eventhough i'm bursting with everyday stories, blogging is the last thing that i wanna do.
I'll regret it when years down the road, there is no story about my wedding. So now i'm trying to salvage whatever there is left. ;)
My Wedding.
It has been the focal point in my life since i got engage almost 6 months ago. I'm glad my mom started early in preparing everything. We bought bits by bits every month and i enjoyed the process tremendously and i do basked in the glorified feeling of being engaged. It is so different eventhough we've been together for so long but seeing the ring on my finger cemented the proof that THIS IS IT!!! This is what we were aiming for and it's finally here.
I didn't have a concrete idea on how the concept would be and even know i keep on finding something new to add up to the wedding ideas. But for now, the colours are confirmed.
The colours that i chose was;
I call it champange colour. Fiance chose this colour when we were choosing kain for baju melayu and i fell in love with that tone when we were matching lace with the colour. I love the lace and it would definitely be something different other that white that brides normally wear. So this colour will be my akad nikah colour. I would love to show you the design of my akad nikah attire but it'll ruin the surprise and hoping my designer/tailor do it justice.
Dusty pink is something that catches my eyes when i started looking for my reception colour. At first i thought of wearing this colour for my reception but fiance is not keen on it but since it is such a beautiful colour, my family will be wearing this tone. We opted for cream at the reception. My design for reception attire is simple and full of lace. Think Grace Kelly and you'll get the concept. The veil will be quiet long since my mom said it's a once in a lifetime experience so go for it ;)
And now, i have not finalised the colour and design on fiance's reception. Need to do this soon once he has book his venue.
Things that are done:
1. Bride's attire for solemnization & bride's reception
2. Whole family's attires for both occasions.
3. Wedding favors for both occasions
4. Make up artist for solemnization
5. Hall for reception
6. Mosque & imam for solemnization
7. Hantaran for bride
8. Kursus kahwin
9. Bride & groom's wedding rings
Things pending:
1. Make up artist for receptions
2. Bride's attire for groom's reception
3. Hantaran for groom
4. Caterer
5. Photographer/Videographer
6. Wedding cakes for solemnization & reception
7. Mini pelamin at home
8. Wedding invitations
9. Guests list
10. HIV test
That's what i can remember for now. As you can see there is a lot to do but my big sister a.k.a the maid of honour is quiet efficient. She has lined up appointments for me to see the photographers and liasing with MUA.
My wedding is supposed to be in december but we decided to move it up so my baby sister can be there. She's studying in Jordan and will be coming home for a month soon so i have less than 100 days for everything. Can it be done? My mom is quiet positive about it. Sadly my reception will only be after Raya since the hall is fully booked by now. Just our luck somebody cancel a slot and we grabbed it.
My friends said i'll be having 'nikah gantung' but what is 'nikah gantung' ? As i'm quiet confused of the concept, i google it and here's what i summarised:
"Nikah gantung ialah satu keadaan yang mana sepasang lelaki dan perempuan dinikahkan mengikut segala syarat-syarat nikah dalam Islam tetapi ditangguhkan tinggal bersama sehingga hari persandingan.
Nikah gantung hanyalah adat Melayu.
* Belum bersedia menanggung komitmen kehidupan berumahtangga
Well, i dun think i'm in this category just because some of the reasons why a married couple do not live together is because either they are still studying, or is not ready for the commitment. I should just throw away the 'nikah gantung' concept outta window.
Today i spent the entire day with fiance and his mom looking for his songket and tux. The search is neverending. Gotta sleep now as i need to do my medical check-up tomorrow.
Will try my hardest to update soon. Alas, the future-me will appreciate the present-me for noting every journey back again.
I'll see you soon,
The bride-to-be

:: What if God was one of us ::
If God had a name, what would it be
And would you call it to his face
If you were faced with him in all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question
And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
If God had a face what would it look like
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like heaven and in jesus and the saints and all the prophets
And yeah yeah god is great yeah yeah god is good
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
He's trying to make his way home
Back up to heaven all alone
Nobody calling on the phone
Except for the pope maybe in rome
And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
What if god was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
Just trying to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to heaven all alone

January Babies
Both lovely ladies got ballons on their birthday.
One had a mask and another a tiara,
Both are insanely sweet, independent and truly nice.
A year older & definitely wiser.
Happy 24th my darlings.
Love you both long time.

I'm still Alive ;)
Oh No.
I've been truly bad at updating unlike my old self. Second month of a new year and here i am dusting off the cobweb or attempting to.
I'm super duper lazy eventhought there's so much going on right now and I know few years down the road i'll be regreting not writing everything here and not remembering all these events.
So lets start with what i do remember first;
Bungee Jump it was something that i did the last day of 2010. I've been begging N for days/months? to bring me to sunway and finally he did. I was so focus on doing it that it didn't occur to me that i might be chikening out up there. Oh No, i was super confident everything will be such a breeze. The minute i was on the ledge? and looked down and see all the tiny people, i started having second thoughts. What the hell was i thinking and why do i put myself throught this? I was so terrified since of course i have fear of heights that i bawled my eyes out and standing there for i dunno 10 minutes or so? while N and his family keep on giving me encouraging words to just JUMP. Heck, i dunno what happened, next thing I know I closed my eyes and felt the guy who was holding me giving me a push and there i was swinging under the bridge and praying that i won't have a heart attack and die. Such drama queen. N was pumped out wanting to joined me when earlier he didn't wanna jump. Maybe seeing how brave(LOL) i was, he decided what the heck, live in the moment & he actually enjoyed it. Well what can i say from this experience; I might not jump again but this give me a sense of renewed confidence. If I can conquer my fear, i can do anything else. Live in the moment yeah.
Wedding Updates as of now, wedding favors are done. Mom is in progress of beautifying them. My wedding dresses; praying hard the tailor done justice to them based on the pictures that i gave and the sketches that they did. I truly truly wanna look my best in my wedding dresses. For akad; the colour will be beige but i called them champange colour and my reception will be cream. I love my french laces and i truly can't wait to see the final outcome but since my wedding is still a long way to go, we agreed that the first fitting will be in august. Haven't found anything suitable for groom's reception and honestly haven't even look for a dress yet but since we agreed it'll be a black and white theme, maybe it'll make finding a dress easier. I would prefer finding something readymade. Haven't book photographer and make up artist. I think i'll start searching by next month for them.
Water Rafting/ Waterfall Abseiling when i initially told N i wanted to try water raftin, he forbid me. Basically he was quite apprehensive in me doing any kind of extreme sports because of " darah manis" taboo where people who is getting married are more accident prone so they should take extra care of themselves. Nevertheless, my heart was set on experiencing it and Shu took charge with doing all the necessary booking and I persuade N to join in so last week me, N, Shu, Lee and Ainaa went to Gopeng. We booked 2 activities so we were there since 9am till 6 pm. What can I say other than FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN. Seeing myself dangling from a waterfall and using my own weight to climb down was such a surreal experience. Water rafting is something that i forsee myself doing again. Lately i have this penchant for extreme sports and would like to try ATV next.
Gym My company recently decided that we need to do some healthy activities so my boss is paying for me and my colleagues gym membership at Fitness First. Well am trying to lose these few extra pounds so lets hope that i got the body that i want before the wedding.
Well, i should stop now. It's almost 3am and i'm Sick but i miss blogging so hopefully my readers ( do i even have one anymore? ) are satisfy for now. Good morning (;
