Henna Schmena

When i was a kid, we had this tree in front of our house where we use the leaves for henna. Well i guess we can call it a henna tree. I would occasionally get a handful or more of the leaves, grind them and put them on my fingers with plastic covering my whole hand and go to sleep. The next morning I would have a pretty henna on my 7-year-old fingers. 


When I'm getting married, i knew that i wanted an elaborate henna on my wedding day. So I chose Henna Ratu Sehari. I google on some pictures of henna and emailed her. She came a day before the wedding at 10pm and she did my hands and feet in less than an hour. Do try her.

3. Solemnization Dress

So i guess everybody knows who make the dress. At first i didn't love it but once everything is done with the beads, i adored it. The veil is oh-so-pweetty. I didn't particularly like the inner with the hard awning they provided as it didn't suit my face so i bought a chiffon tudung at Ampang Park to match the veil. Met with the Mimpikita team early January and here's the sketch that Nurul did for my solemnization;

My solemnization supposed to be in December on our 8th year anniversary. Nevertheless, i'm glad to be married now. Bliss ;) On our numerous fittings, we make some changes from the original sketch and Nurul changed the belt from a hooked ones to a chiffon belt with brooch. Questions-do you prefer to rent or own your own wedding dress?

How do I do my own review on the wedding?

I don't even know where to start.

Instead of a story which i'll normally do, i'll just segregate them into person of interest.

1) Sue Cantik- MUA

If you don't know yet, Sue Cantik is a guy. Nevertheless, Sue Cantik will be a "she" henceforth. She arrived at my place at 715am when i just finished bathing. She came with her assistant and started doing my make-up right away. She was warm and friendly, you'll feel at ease immediately. The make-up session lasted for 2 hours and when i'm done, i don't really recognise myself. I wasn't accustomed to full make up ever and it was my first time wearing fake eyelashes. I felt like there's something weird and hairy sticking on my eyes the first few hours. Once she was done, i think i kinda like the way I look. What do you think?

Of course I have to wear hijab as we are doing the ceremony in a mosque and boy, did she knows how to wear it to me beautifully. I don't even know how to wear one properly with the veil on. If you can afford her, try her once. Other brides have been so helpful by providing phone numbers in their blogs so i'll do the same. To bride-to-be, you can get her here ;

2) Danialhaikal- Photographer

I booked Danialhaikal for both of my events. Ijoy was a senior photographer who handles my solemnization ceremony and Aizuddin, the principal photographer will be taking my reception pictures this September. The pictures i posted below was taken by Ijoy. It was accustomed for Danialhaikal to give us the teasers of the pictures they have taken. It will took them 3 months to deliver the wedding album and all the pictures taken, hence the professional photos will take a while to be posted up. Ijoy came with Azlee at almost 8am when i'm in the midst of getting my make-up on. They knew Sue Cantik and her assistant so from the moment they arrived, they were chatting up the storm. Really, both Danialhaikal team and Sue Cantik really make my day as they make me laugh with their conversation and it definitely ease any jittery i was feeling. Pagi2 dah happening and gelak besar, suka kan? Both of these guys are really friendly and it makes you feel like you know them for years as you can jokes and talk to them easily. Their pictures are beautiful as well. And they are among the cheapest you can get in the market and the quality is still top-notch.

On an entirely different note, my sister just gave birth to a baby boy last wednesday. I was still in Bali for my honeymoon and the minute mama mms us the baby's picture, i was inching to go home so bad, Bali was immediately forgotten. LOL ;)

He's so cute. I'm supposed to pick them up later at the hospital. Baby Rafael is coming home. Sorry Ryan, Rafael might be my new favourite baby to play with. *mommy-mode ON*
